Honkyuichi Hamono is a renowned blacksmith workshop founded in 1895 in Shimabara, Nagasaki Prefecture. It carries on the legacy of master blacksmith "Kyuichi" , whose art dates back to the Edo period. Today, the fourth and fifth generations of craftsmen continue to produce top-quality hand-forged knives that are characterized by exceptional sharpness and durability.

Maintenance and recommendations
Shirogami No. 2 is a high-performance steel, but it requires basic care :
- After use, wash the knife, dry it thoroughly and store it in a dry place.
- In case of rust, the blade can be cleaned with a whetstone or fine abrasive.
- Do not put in the dishwasher , as this may damage the knife.
- Do not use the knife on frozen foods, bones or hard shells - the blade may be damaged.
