This smaller Deba knife is handmade by skilled craftsmen in the Sakai region, the historical center of Japanese knifemaking tradition. It is a single-edged, right-handed knife, ideal for filleting smaller fish and precision kitchen work around the home.
The blade is made of high-quality Shirogami #2 (White Steel No. 2) carbon steel with a soft iron sheath. This type of steel is very sharp and easy to sharpen, making it a great choice even for those who are just getting acquainted with traditional Japanese knives.
