A single-sided sharpened knife exclusively for right-handed people.

This traditional Japanese Deba kitchen knife is handmade by master craftsmen in the Sakai region, considered the cradle of Japanese cutlery. The Deba is a robust, single-edged knife designed primarily for fish processing - from slicing to filleting to separating heads. However, thanks to its construction, it can also be used for preparing meat and poultry.

The blade is made of Shirogami No. 2 (White Steel No. 2) carbon steel, which is known for its exceptionally fine edge, high sharpness and very easy sharpening. The core is lined with soft iron , which increases the toughness of the blade and simplifies blade maintenance. Despite the knife's robust construction and higher weight, it is well balanced and feels sure and stable when working.

The single-sided sharpening is designed for right-handed people and allows for precise, controlled cutting with minimal damage to the structure of the raw material. This model is suitable not only for home cooks, but also for beginners who want to enter the world of traditional Japanese carbon steel knives.

The handle is made of magnolia wood , which is light, pleasant to the hand and traditionally used in Japanese work knives. The plastic mouth protects the joint between the blade and the handle from moisture and extends the life of the knife.

Recommendations for new knives

After each use, rinse the knife immediately, dry thoroughly and store in a dry place.
For longer storage, we recommend lightly treating the blade with protective oil.


Warning – carbon steel knives

Carbon steel is not stainless and may darken or develop a patina over time.
These changes are natural and do not negatively affect the functionality or sharpness of the knife.


Notice

Not suitable for dishwashers or dryers, as high temperatures and chemicals can damage the blade and handle.

The knife is not intended for cutting frozen foods, hard bones or other extremely hard ingredients outside of normal fish processing.
