Important notice

This knife is offered at a discounted price due to damage to the ferrule (transition ring at the handle).
The damage is only visual and does not affect the functionality of the knife or its cutting properties.
Please take this into account when purchasing - the condition is documented in the product photos.

Product description

This Japanese Santoku knife was handmade in the Sakai region, considered one of the most important centers of traditional kitchen knife making in Japan. The knife combines high cutting performance, easy maintenance and the distinctive aesthetics of Damascus steel.

The blade is made of 67-layer Damascus construction with a core of AUS10 stainless steel, which is valued for its good hardness, stable edge and corrosion resistance. This combination ensures a long blade life, easy sharpening and reliable behavior in everyday use. The Damascus pattern gives each piece an original look - no two blades are exactly the same.

The handle is made of Yew wood (Ichii) , which is harder, more durable and darker than commonly used woods such as Magnolia or Poplar. It has a hexagonal shape with a half-round end , which provides a secure and comfortable grip for a variety of holding styles. Despite the cosmetic damage to the ferrule, the handle remains fully functional and stable.

Recommendations for new knives

To achieve maximum performance, we recommend that you gently sharpen the knife on a water stone before using it for the first time.
Regular light maintenance will help keep the blade in optimal condition.

Knife maintenance recommendations

After each use, rinse the knife, dry it and store it in a dry place.
Even though it is stainless steel, avoid prolonged contact with moisture.

Warning – stainless steel knives

Even stainless steel can show minor stains or discoloration if not cared for properly.
These changes are normal and do not affect the functionality of the knife.

Notice

Not suitable for dishwashers or dryers, as high temperatures, chemicals and mechanical stress can damage the blade and handle.

The knife is not intended for cutting bones, frozen foods, hard shells or other extremely hard ingredients that may damage the blade.

Avoid cutting on glass, stone or ceramic; we recommend using wooden or high-quality plastic cutting boards.
