This elegant Japanese kitchen knife of the Petty type was made in the Echizen region (Echizen city, Fukui prefecture) , which is one of the most important centers of traditional Japanese knife production with a history of more than 700 years. The compact Petty knife is designed primarily for precise and detailed work , where control, lightness and accuracy are important.
The blade is made of DP Gold triple-layer stainless steel , with a core of high-quality steel with good edge retention, covered with two layers of stainless steel. This construction offers an excellent balance between sharpness, corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance , making it an ideal choice for everyday use.
The hammered and polished blade surface creates tiny air pockets that reduce food sticking, making slicing smoother and less food sticking to the blade.
The handle is made of waterproof laminated plywood and is complemented by a hygienic ferrule , which protects the connection between the blade and the handle from moisture and dirt. The handle design ensures a stable grip, long service life and high hygiene during work.
