Product description

This traditional Japanese Higonokami folding knife comes from one of the last original manufacturers - Nagao Koma Seisakusho , who have been making these folding knives in their original form since the Meiji period in the late 19th century. This is an authentic handmade Japanese pocket knife designed for everyday use, preserving the original design and functional philosophy.

The blade is made using the traditional warikomi method, where a hard core of Aogami (Blue Paper Steel) carbon steel is sandwiched between layers of soft iron. This construction offers very high sharpness, easy sharpening, and better toughness than all-steel blades. This makes the knife suitable not only for everyday use, but also for users who want to learn how to work with carbon steel properly.

The handle is made of brass , which naturally patinas over time. This process is considered desirable and emphasizes the traditional character of the knife. The simple design without a safety and the double-sided V-shaped cut allow for use by both right-handed and left-handed people.

The knife is popular for carving, pencil sharpening, woodworking , and as a practical tool for everyday use. It is also often used in knife-making and hand-sharpening lessons because it naturally adapts to the owner's hand.

It will serve perfectly as a classic pocket knife for camping, working in the garden or picking mushrooms in the forest.
